How does Dom-i-city produce more housing?

Dom-i-city introduces a new housing typology that uses land more efficiently and changes the dynamic of neighborhood opposition to new development. It does not rely on subsidy. It incorporates a program for land creation and is self-propagating.

How does Dom-i-city make housing affordable?

Middle income households  are unable to bridge the gap between price and an    affordable conventional mortgage based on income.  A two-tiered mortgage is proposed in which the silent second is based on shared equity while the first is a conventional mortgage based on income. 

Why is Dom-i-city focused on moderate and middle income households?

Middle income housing has been ignored, and lacks advocates.  Teachers, nurses, firefighters, police , other  members of the workforce and middle income families  have been leaving the city. A consequence is that shortages in many sectors of the workforce are appearing threatening the safety, functioning and social stability of the community.

What is the price of a Dom-i-city house?

A preliminary  estimate of $700,000 – $850,000 for a new three bedroom, two bath house is targeted to be affordable to households with incomes between $100,000 and $150,000.
